The Life Remembrance project was featured at the 12th edition of the
Sustainable Chemistry Conference, organized by
Federchimica at its Auditorium in Milan. This annual event focuses on
collaboration and innovation for the ecological transition, bringing together research institutions, industry representatives, and policy stakeholders.
Federchimica is the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry, representing more than 1,400 companies. It promotes innovation, environmental responsibility, and sustainable growth within the chemical sector in Italy and Europe. During the morning session,
Letizia Bocchi (Laboratory and IP Manager at Medica S.p.A.) and
Manuela Melucci (researcher at CNR – ISOF) presented the goals, activities, and achievements of the Life Remembrance project, highlighting it as a
successful case study of research-industry collaboration. The project was showcased as a notable example within the
EU LIFE Programme for its ability to combine:
- Technological innovation, through the reuse of discarded polymeric membranes to develop advanced functional materials
- Environmental sustainability, by applying these materials for wastewater treatment and the removal of emerging contaminants
- Synergic cooperation between research and industry, which is crucial to tackling current and future environmental challenges
Participating in the conference was a valuable opportunity to strengthen the project’s network and promote the dissemination of its results at both national and European levels.
